The Singapore Police Force (SPF) said in a press release on Thursday (30 March) that they had arrested a 43-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of theft of copper wires.
The man had allegedly stolen copper cables from the construction site near Stadium Walk.
The police said that they had received multiple reports from 15 December last year to 27 March earlier this week, about a series of thefts of copper cables from a construction site.
The Police officers from Bedok Police Division subsequently managed to establish the identity of the alleged thief through the use of police and CCTV cameras during their follow up investigations.
The man was then arrested on 30 March, and believed to have been involved in other cases of theft, with the total value of the stolen items being worth about $11,000.
He was charged in court yesterday under Section 379 of the Penal Code 1871.

MAN ARRESTED FOR A SERIES OF THEFT OF COPPER WIRES
The Police have arrested a 43-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of theft of copper wires.
Between 15 December 2022 to 27 March 2023, the Police received multiple reports from victims who informed that their copper cables were stolen from their construction site in the vicinity of Stadium Walk.
Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from Police and CCTV cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 30 March 2023. The man is believed to be involved in other similar cases of theft with a total value amounting to $11,000.
The man will be charged in court on 31 March 2023 with theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term up to three years, a fine, or both.
