44 YEAR OLD MAN ARRESTED FOR E-COMMERCE SCAMS

According to a media release, a 44-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in e-commerce scams.

Multiple reports were filed by victims between 11 Sep 2019 to 01 Jun 2020. The victims claimed that they had purchased toys on Carousell from the accuse. However, the item was not received by the victims after their payments were made.

After investigation, the police managed to identify the accuse and put him under arrest. Initial investigation revealed that the total amount involved in the scams is S$13,000.

Investigation is ongoing.

According to the law, anyone convicted for cheating will face a jail term up to 10 years and fined.
