The dead body of a 47-year-old man was discovered along the shore at Pasir Ris Park yesterday afternoon (19 April).
The Singapore Police Force said that they received a call for help on 19 April at about 3.30 pm, and the 47-year-old man was found lying down motionless at the scene.
The man was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
According to the police’s preliminary investigations, they are not suspecting any foul play in the man’s death, and at the time of writing, police investigations into the incident are underway.
Other cases of public deaths
Earlier this month, a 49-year-old hawker stall assistant was found dead inside his stall at the Bukit Merah View Market and Hawker Centre on 15 April at about 6.30am in the morning, where his death was classified as a case of unnatural death.
A friend had tried to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on him but to no avail, and he was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by SCDF paramedics.
A neighbouring hawker said that she saw him lying inside his stall at about 3am that morning before the stall owner arrived at 6am and tried to shake him awake but got no response.
65-year-old man dead inside car at Yishun carpark
A few days before that, on 12 April, another 65-year-old man was found dead inside his car that was parked at an open carpark at Yishun at about 6 pm.
A passerby had discovered the body after noticing that the car door was slightly open with the engine switched off at the time.
He then called the police for help and the man was then pronounced dead at the scene, and his elderly mother later arrived at the scene in a wheelchair to identify her son’s body.
Homeless man found dead on stage at AMK hawker centre
On 11 April, a homeless 77-year-old elderly man was found dead on the stage near the Mayflower Market and Food Centre in Ang Mo Kio.
he was found lying down on the stage beside the town square, and a passerby noticed that something wasn’t right because the man had been lying down for a long time without moving.
He noticed that the elderly man wasn’t breathing before calling the police for help, and the man was then pronounced dead at the scene.
