A 48 y.o man was arrested by the Police for suspicions of being involved in two cases of outrage of modesty at Toa Payoh MRT station.
Molested two females within minutes
Police received a report on 14 Jan at about 11:10pm about two cases of outrage of modesty happening at Toa Payoh MRT station.
It was unclear if the report was made together or separately by the two victims.
The suspect was alleged to have molested two females within a span of a few minutes.
He was later identified by officers of the Tanglin Police Division who worked quickly after receiving the report.
They had looked through the footage of the Police cameras in the vicinity of Toa Payoh MRT station and in the station.
Follow-up investigations were also made to identify the victim’s identity.
Picked up by Police
The suspect was then arrested by the Police within 3 hours from the incident.
Police said that investigations are still ongoing and they have zero tolerance for such cases and offenders as it threatens the safety of the public community.
Offenders of this nature will be dealt with strictly by the law.
Penalties
For the offence of outrage of modesty, the man be jailed up to two years, fined, caned or any combination of the three punishments.
