
48-year-old Wu Liqiang found out that his 15-year-old son was bullied by two friends. In order to get revenge for his son, he meets up with the two friends and slapped them. He was charged and fined S$4,000.
The incident happened on the 13 of May 2019, Wu received a phone call from his wife saying that a group of young people were looking for his son. The defendant went downstairs to meet the group of young people. In the process, he learned that his son’s two friends had said bad things about his son.
He wanted to to get revenge for his son’s bullies, the next day he used his son’s mobile phone to meet one of the 14-year-olds. He would meet with the other at 3:30 pm on the same day at Coffee Shop 526, Jurong West Street 52.
The defendant questioned the two youths in person if they had said anything bad about his son. The youth denied doing so and ran to the playground nearby.
After the defendant chased after him, he questioned the two youths again at the playground. One of them was worried about his safety and admitted to the defendant that he had said bad things about his son.
The defendant slaps the young man in anger, slaps him and insults him with his middle finger and swear words. Another young man was given two slaps.
After the beating, the defendant warned the youth not to say anything bad about his son. The two victims did not seek medical attention but reported to the police station the next afternoon.
