49 Y.O MAN STOLE GOLD BRACELET WORTH $9K FROM PAWNSHOP @ REDHILL, ARRESTED

MAN ARRESTED FOR THEFT IN DWELLING

The Police have arrested a 49-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of theft in dwelling.

On 19 August 2023 at about 6.30pm, the Police received a report that two gold bracelets valued at about $9000 were stolen from a pawnshop along Redhill Lane.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from CCTV and police cameras, officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 20 August 2023. 

The man had managed to pawn one of the gold bracelets at another pawnshop which was subsequently recovered. The other gold bracelet and cash amounting to $900 were recovered from the man. 

The man will be charged in court on 22 August 2023 with theft in dwelling under Section 380 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to seven years and a fine.

Earlier this week, the police arrested a 53-year-old man for stealing motorcycle parts at a few carparks along Woodlands.

On 21 August 2023, the Police received two separate reports of stolen wheels from two different motorcycles that was parked at the multi-storey carparks along Woodlands Drive 50 and Woodlands Ring Road. The wheels (tyres & rims) were allegedly detached and removed from the motorcycles.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on the same day. The stolen motorcycle wheels were subsequently recovered and seized. 

Back in June, the Police arrested two men, aged 47 and 26, for their suspected involvement in a case of theft and dishonestly receiving stolen property.

On 15 June 2023 at about 5pm, the Police received a report that a watch valued at about $88,000 was missing after the victim alighted from a taxi.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of CCTV images, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of men and arrested them on 23 June 2023. Preliminary investigations revealed that the 48-year-old man had allegedly stolen the watch and sold it to the 26-year-old man. The former is also believed to be involved in other similar cases of theft.
