According to a media release, five men aged between 21 to 41 were arrested by the police on 15 Nov 2020 for their involvement in assaulting a man along North Bridge Road. The five men will be charged in court for rioting tomorrow on 17 Nov 2020.
The police were alerted on 15 Nov 2020 around 9.50 am in the morning. Â The 61-year-old victim was found unconscious and bleeding while lying at the void deck of Block 9 North Bridge Road. The man was later sent to the hospital for treatment.
After investigations, the police established the identities of the 5 suspects with the aid of CCTV. The five men were arrested with 48 hours since the incident was reported. It is said that the victim knew one of the attackers and the incident was triggered by a dispute.
According to the law, if convicted of rioting, the 5 men could face a jail term up to seven years and cane.
