5 MEN ARRESTED AFTER VIDEO OF THEM ALLEGEDLY DRIVING RECKLESSLY GOES VIRAL

The Singapore Police Force arrested 5 men on 9 March for allegedly driving dangerously on their heavily modified cars.

Video footage of the speeding cars powering through the CTE was captured on the helmet camera of a motorcyclist on the expressway, and it quickly went viral online.

The incident was caught on camera on the early hours of 27 February and was shared onto the SG Road Vigilante social media channels, with the motorcyclist also making a police report.

The Traffic Police acted on the video footage and conducted investigations to establish the identities of the errant drivers, and a raid was then conducted on the alleged persons involved yesterday morning (9 March).

5 men were arrested and 9 vehicles were seized by the police, with the arrested men between the ages of 22 and 33.

Police investigations against the suspects are still ongoing at the time of writing.

The Traffic Police Superintendent of Police, Cindy New, said that they take a serious stance against errant motorists who choose to flout traffic laws and endanger the safety of other road users.

She added that enforcement operations will be conducted to take these errant motorists to task for their irresponsible actions, and urged motorists to practice good sense on the road to keep Singapore’s roads safe for everyone.
