The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said the items were uncovered after officers conducted enhanced checks on the container following the detection of irregularities in its scanned image.

The case has since been referred to the Singapore Police Force (SPF) for further investigations into a possible offence under the Guns, Explosives and Weapons Control Act 2021.

ICA Officers Flagged Container For Further Inspection

According to ICA, the container was referred for further checks on 1 October following information received from its Integrated Targeting Centre (ITC).

An ICA image analyst subsequently identified anomalies in the scanned image and directed the container for enhanced inspection.

During the physical examination, officers inspected several parcels inside the container and uncovered items believed to be controlled weapons and ammunition-related materials.

The discovery highlights the role of cargo screening and image analysis in identifying potentially prohibited items entering Singapore.

Five Replica Guns And Multiple Packets Of BB Pellets Seized

The inspection uncovered five replica guns, along with six packets and one bottle of BB pellets.

Officers also found 40 packets of 72 caps. The items were documented during the inspection, as shown in footage shared by ICA on its official Facebook page.

Although replica firearms may resemble toys or imitation weapons, their importation into Singapore is subject to strict controls. Members of the public should not assume that such items can be brought into the country without the necessary approval.

19-Year-Old Man Assisting Police Investigations

The case has been handed over to the SPF, which is investigating a possible offence under the Guns, Explosives and Weapons Control Act 2021.

A 19-year-old man is assisting with investigations. ICA has not publicly detailed the individual’s alleged involvement in the case.

The legislation, which came into force on 1 July 2025, governs various activities involving guns, explosives and other regulated weapons.

Under Singapore’s rules, importing toy or replica guns is generally not permitted without approval from the police. Travellers and businesses bringing such products into Singapore should check the applicable requirements before making arrangements for shipment.

ICA reiterated its commitment to safeguarding Singapore’s borders while facilitating legitimate trade and travel.

The authority’s latest discovery also serves as a reminder that imported cargo can be subjected to additional screening when intelligence assessments or scanning results raise concerns.

Investigations into the seized items are ongoing, and further details may emerge as the police establish the circumstances surrounding the case.
