51-Year-Old Man Gets Stroke After He “PCC” Too Much, Currently Hospitalized

A 51-year-old man in Japan was rushed to hospital after experiencing a sudden and severe headache moments after reaching climax, in what doctors later confirmed to be a type of stroke.

The incident occurred when the man, who reportedly engaged in “activities” multiple times a day, developed intense head pain accompanied by nausea. Recognizing that something was seriously wrong, he sought medical attention shortly after the symptoms began.

At the Nagoya City University Hospital, doctors diagnosed him with a subarachnoid haemorrhage — a potentially life-threatening condition caused by the rupture of a blood vessel in the brain.

Sudden Spike In Blood Pressure Can Trigger Rare Cases

A subarachnoid haemorrhage occurs when bleeding takes place in the space between the brain and the tissues that cover it. This form of stroke is often linked to ruptured aneurysms and can present with what patients describe as the “worst headache of their life”.

Medical experts explain that intense physical exertion, including sexual activity, can cause a sharp and rapid rise in blood pressure. In individuals with underlying vascular weaknesses, this sudden surge may increase the risk of a rupture.

Although such cases are uncommon, studies suggest that sexual activity is linked to between 3.8 per cent and 14 per cent of similar clinical presentations. Doctors emphasise that while intimacy is generally safe for most healthy individuals, those with pre-existing cardiovascular or cerebrovascular risks should be mindful of warning signs such as explosive headaches, neck stiffness or vomiting.

Patient Discharged After Two Weeks Of Treatment

Fortunately, the man received prompt medical care and was discharged from hospital approximately two weeks later. Early intervention is crucial in cases of subarachnoid haemorrhage, as delays in treatment can significantly worsen outcomes.

The case has sparked widespread discussion online, with some commenters making light of the circumstances. However, healthcare professionals stress that the episode highlights a broader point about cardiovascular health, particularly in middle-aged adults.

Regular health screenings, blood pressure monitoring and managing lifestyle risk factors such as smoking, poor diet and lack of exercise remain key preventive measures. Sudden severe headaches during exertion — whether from exercise or intimate activity — should never be ignored.

While the case remains rare, doctors say it serves as a reminder that even everyday activities can become dangerous when underlying health conditions go undetected.
