1,776 People Under Investigation Following Islandwide Police Crackdown Across Singapore

A total of 1,776 people are under investigation after Singapore authorities conducted a series of large-scale enforcement operations across the island throughout June 2026.

The operations, which took place between June 1 and June 28, involved more than 5,600 officers from various agencies and resulted in 519 arrests. Those being investigated comprise 1,173 men and 603 women aged between 15 and 85.

More than 1,300 enforcement operations were carried out during the month, with officers checking over 17,000 people as part of efforts to combat crime and maintain public safety.

The operations involved officers from the seven Police Land Divisions, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Traffic Police, as well as personnel from the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB), Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), Land Transport Authority (LTA) and Health Sciences Authority (HSA).

Raids Target Illegal Gambling And Vice Activities

Several operations targeted illegal gambling and vice-related activities in different parts of Singapore.

In Yishun and Sembawang, anti-gambling raids conducted on June 4 and June 10 resulted in the arrest of 17 individuals, comprising 12 men and five women aged between 34 and 72. Authorities also seized more than S$4,700 in cash and gambling-related paraphernalia.

Meanwhile, raids at massage establishments in Jurong and Boon Lay led to the arrest of five women aged between 36 and 51 for alleged offences under the Women’s Charter.

On June 6, enforcement officers conducted operations against illegal massage outlets in Jalan Mas Puteh. Two establishments were found to be operating without valid licences, while suspected vice activities were also detected. Eight women aged between 29 and 48 were arrested during the operation.

Entertainment Venues And Commercial Premises Investigated

Between June 10 and June 13, officers conducted checks at massage establishments, hotels, commercial units and public entertainment outlets across Balestier Road, Selegie Road, River Valley Road, Clarke Quay and Sinaran Drive.

A total of 41 women and four men are being investigated for various suspected offences, including illegal employment and vaping-related offences.

Authorities also seized seven vaporisers and launched investigations into several massage establishments and entertainment venues for suspected licensing breaches.

On June 23, a joint operation at Upper Cross Street and Cecil Street resulted in the arrest of 24 women and one man. The individuals are suspected of offences relating to immigration laws, employment regulations and other offences.

One woman was additionally arrested for allegedly causing hurt to a public servant while officers were carrying out their duties.

Traffic And Mobility Enforcement Operations

Enforcement efforts also focused on active mobility and traffic offences.

During an operation in Sengkang and Punggol on June 26, LTA officers detected 25 active mobility-related offences and seized 15 active mobility devices.

Three teenagers aged between 16 and 19 were also arrested for suspected involvement in unlawful societies.

Traffic Police conducted islandwide drink-driving enforcement operations throughout June. Of the 66 motorists tested at roadblocks, 15 failed breathalyser tests and were subsequently arrested.

Among those arrested was a 37-year-old motorcyclist who was allegedly riding against the flow of traffic. Investigations later revealed he was allegedly riding without a valid licence, operating an uninsured vehicle and was found in possession of substances believed to be controlled drugs.

In a separate case, a 26-year-old driver who failed a breathalyser test was also found to have allegedly taken a vehicle without the owner’s consent and was driving while holding only a Provisional Driving Licence.

Police said the month-long operations demonstrate their continued commitment to tackling unlawful activities and maintaining safety and security across Singapore. Investigations into all cases are ongoing.
