53 Y.O ARRESTED, SNATCHED GOLD NECKLACE AT JURONG WEST

According to the Police media release, a 53-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of snatch theft.

The incident happened last Thursday (Jan 20) at around 11.20 AM. The Police were alerted by the victim that an unknown man had snatched her jewellery along Jurong West Street 93.

A gold necklace and gold pendant was lost.

Arrested in 5 hours.

Officers from Jurong Division, Police Operations Command Centre and Police Transport Security Command worked together and managed to unveil the identity of the man.

Through Police CCTV and ground investigations the 53-year-old suspect along Boon Lay Drive within 5 hours after the crime was reported.

The Police were able to retire the stolen jewellery.

Charged

The man was charged on Saturday (22 Jan) for snatch theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code 1871.

If the man is found guilty he will be jailed for a minimum of 1 year and up to 7 years and cane.
