According to a media release, a 53-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement of setting a building on fire with the intention to destroy the building.

The police were alerted after a fire has broken out at a unit within a building located at Mandai Estate.
No injuries were reported from the fire.
However, investigations revealed that the fire was set intentionally by someone. The police were able to identify the suspect and arrested him within 72 hours from the incident was reported.
According to the law, anyone convicted of mischief by fire with the intent to destroy a building could be jailed for life or jailed up to 10 years and a fine.
