The Ministry of Health (MOH) has reported a total of 5,554 new cases on 28 January 2022 with 3 fatalities.
Case details
Of the 5,554 new cases, 5,272 are local and 3 fatalities. The death toll is 853.
The remaining 282 are imported cases.
Of the cases today, 3,646 cases are detected via ART test while 1,626 cases are detected via PCR.
MOH has stopped reporting separately about Omicron variant cases and have included it inside with the total case count.
This is because the bulk of infections now is Omicron cases.
The confirmed cases are now a total of cases tested via PCR test and GP-Protocol 2 cases.
The infection growth rate is at 2.24 down from yesterday’s 2.37.
GP-Protocol 2 cases refer to individuals who are well but test positive or have been diagnosed by a doctor to have mild conditions.
Hospital
There are 636 patients at the hospital, including 46 requiring oxygen. There are 10 patients in the intensive care unit.
92% of Singapore’s eligible population has finished the national immunization program’s entire vaccine regimen.
Approximately 57% of the overall population has had their vaccination booster doses.
