Following the incident, the driver was admitted to the intensive care unit at the National University Hospital (NUH).

Shin Min Daily News reported that the driver had arrived at Warehouse 37 in Joo Koon Circle when he suddenly lost consciousness and began convulsing.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received a distress call for assistance at approximately 7:50 am, and the man was then sent to the hospital.

The driver was employed by a Malaysian transportation company and regularly delivered goods between Johor Bahru and Singapore.

According to the driver’s eldest daughter, who spoke with Shin Min, she received a call from her father’s company informing her that he had been admitted to NUH and was in a coma.

The daughter suspected that her father had suffered a stroke, as he had been living with high blood pressure for an extended period.

Additionally, she observed from a video provided by the company that her father appeared unwell while reversing the lorry into the unloading bay.

Her father was seen in a video that she showed to the reporters, in the driver’s seat with his eyes closed and experiencing uncontrollable body twitches.

Fortunately, the unloading area was sloped, and the driver had engaged the handbrake before losing consciousness.

The man had been working for the company for about 20 years, and he would manually unload and organise the goods on his own to earn the extra handling fee or $29.
