59 PEOPLE UNDER QUARANTINE AFTER 1 STUDENT TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID-19

According to a media release, a total of 59 people has been quarantine or put on leave of absence after being identified as close contact with an infected student. Out of the 59 people, 47 of them are students and 12 of them are staff members of Saint Anthony’s Canossian Secondary School.

The student was tested positive for COVID-19 on the 12 Jun 2020. The infected student was feeling unwell during a screening exercise on the 10 Jun 2020, she was sent home immediately and has not returned to school since.

The student was not infected after school re-opened

According to the Ministry of Health, “the student also tested positive in her serology test, which indicates that this was a past infection”.

” The result suggested that she was likely to have been infected during the circuit breaker period, and not after school re-opening”

The 47 students identified as close contact has been tested with negative results. The test result of the 12 staff member is still pending. The school has since clean and disinfected the affected area within the school.
