Six men between the ages of 16 and 21 were arrested by the Singapore Police Force for their suspected involvement in a case of rioting.
The police said that they were alerted to an alleged fight that broke out at Bayfront Avenue on 24 September at about 6am, between a group of six unknown men and a 20-year-old man.
The 20-year-old sustained minor injuries, including injuries to his face and hands and sought treatment for his injuries at a hospital.
According to the police’s preliminary investigations., the fight had broken out because of an alleged staring incident earlier.
The identities of the group of 6 men, were later established and identified through the use of CCTVs and ground enquiries, and they were arrested within 2 hours of the incident.
All 6 will be charged in court today (25 September) for rioting, and face a jail term of up to 7 years and caning if found guilty.
