6 PEOPLE ARRESTED AND $45K WORTH OF DRUGS SEIZED BY CNB IN TWO-DAY OPERATION

The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) said in a press release on 16 April that 6 people, aged between 26 and 33, have been arrested for suspected drug activities.

The two-day operation saw about 1.7kg of cannabis (marijuana) and other drugs being seized in multiple locations, with a total street value of about $45,000.

The two day operation began on the evening of 15 April at a Chinatown hotel, with a 26-year-old Malaysian man being arrested and taken to his room where officers found 10g of cannabis and 20 Erimin-5 tablets.

Another 4 Singaporeans and a Malaysian; a 33-year-old woman and three men aged between 26 and 30, as well as a 26-year-old Malaysian,were arrested at the same hotel, in another room.

About 118g of cannabis, 104g of Ice, 8 ecstacy tablets, as well as drug paraphernalia were found in the room.

The 26-year-old Singaporean was brought to his motorcycle near the hotel, where another 50g of cannabis were seized by officers.

He was then taken to his residence the next morning, at Bukit Batok, and another 1.54kg of cannabis was seized.

Investigations are currently still ongoing.
