6 PEOPLE TO BE CHARGED FOR SUSPECTED INVOLVEMENT IN ORGANISED CRIMINAL GROUP

In a press released on 25 March, the Singapore police said that 6 men will be charged for their alleged involvement in an organised criminal group that was engaging in gambling activities.

They are the fourth organised criminal group to be charged under the Organised Crime Act (OCA).

The 6 men, aged between 34 and 63, were among 66 people arrested in a police operation conducted in 2018 and were first charged on 25 October 2018 for offences undere the Common Gaming Houses Act (CGHA).

They will be charged again in court on 26 March for numerous offences under the OCA, CGHA and Societies Act.

2 of the sextet are also facing additional chargs under the Corruption, Drug Trafficking and Othre Serious Crimes (Confiscation of Benefits) Act.
