Earlier today, Multi-ministry task force member Gan Kim Yong said that the country will be giving COVID-19 vaccine booster shots to those who are 60-years-old and above and those who are moderate to severely immunocompromised.
The first batch of seniors who completed their two shots back in March will be eligible for the 3rd shot this month.
The Ministry of Health will announce more details later.
USA also going for 3rd dose
Moderna Inc. said that it has submitted preliminary data to the US Food and Drug Administration for approval of a third-dose booster of its Covid-19 vaccine, fueling a controversy about the necessity for further injections.
In a clinical experiment, the booster injection boosted antibody levels against the delta version by more than 40-fold, according to the firm, which employed a lower dose of 50 micrograms, which is half the dose used in the current vaccination.
