61 Y.O INVESTIGATED AFTER LYING TO POLICE “MY SON ABDUCTED” AT PUNGGOL

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) stated on Sunday that a 61-year-old father who claimed a stranger “snatched” his kid is being probed for allegedly giving false information to a police officer (Jul 11).

The crime was reported to the police around 12:40 p.m. on Saturday, according to the police. The man who reported to the Police claims that “a stranger snatched his son away from him along Punggol Walk and left in a car”. said the Police.

However, officers who were investigating the report found that there were several inconsistencies with the man’s statements. The man accused of grabbing his son is known to the father and preliminary investigations revealed that the son entered the vehicle of voluntarily.

Investigations against the man are ongoing. 

“Those who lodge false police reports or provide false information will face serious consequences under the law.” said the Police

Anyone found convicted of providing false information to a public servant can face up to 2 years jail and/or fine.
