In Singapore, the death penalty is carried out by hanging. The execution is carried out in secret, and the date and time are not made public.

The only people who are informed of the execution are the condemned person and their family members. The execution is carried out by a team of prison officials who are specially trained for this task.

Before the execution, the condemned person is given the opportunity to meet with their family members and a religious counselor.

They are also given the opportunity to make a final statement. The condemned person is then escorted to the gallows, where they are hanged until they are declared dead.
