7 MORE WUHAN VIRUS CASES, TOTAL CASES REACHES 40, TAXI AND PRIVATE HIRE

The virus outbreak has increased to 40, out of the new seven cases 5 of them were linked to previous cases. Two other cases have no link.

Among the seven there is one taxi driver and one private hire driver, it is alarming to find out people who operate public transports are infected with the virus. (Case 35 and 37)

Case 35:

  • no recent travel history to China
  • symptoms on 30 January
  • Visited Bukit Merah Polyclinic on 31 January
  • admitted to SGH on 6 February
  • worked as a taxi driver
  • home at Henderson Crescent
  •  visited Redhill Market and a hawker centre at Bukit Merah

Case 36:

  • 38-year-old female Singapore Permanent Resident
  • no recent travel history to China
  • Went Johor on 25th to 28th Jan
  • symptoms on 24 January
  • visited a GP clinic on 1 February
  • admitted to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital on 4 February
  • Attended business meeting at Grand Hyatt
  • Visited family member at Ng Teng Fong Hospital
  • She stays at Bukit Batok Street 31.

Case 37

  • 53-year-old male Singapore Citizen
  •  worked as a private hire car drive
  •  no recent travel history to China
  • symptoms on 30 January
  • visited two GP clinics on 1 February and 3 February
  • admitted to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital on 6 February
  • stays at Jurong East Street 32.

Case 38:

  •  52-year-old female Singapore Citizen 
  • no recent travel history to China
  • symptoms on 3 February 
  • visited Choa Chu Kang Polyclinic 
  •  admitted to NCID on 7 February
  • visited The Life Church and Missions Singapore, Marina Bay Sands, Chinatown and Plaza Singapura and had travelled by public transport.
  • She stays at Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3.

Case 39

  •  51-year-old male Singapore Citizen 
  • no recent travel history to China
  •  symptoms on 29 January
  •  attended the same private business meeting as Cases 30 and 36
  • stays at Jurong West Central.

Case 40:

  • 36-year-old male Singapore Citizen
  • no recent travel history to China
  • symptoms on 30 January,
  • visited a GP clinic on the same day
  • works at Yong Thai Hang
  • Stays at Bedok North Street.
