A total of 73 students took the wrong mathematics paper for their ‘O’ level on Thursday(20 October 2016).
24 from Ahmad Ibrahim Secondary School and 49 from Woodgrove Secondary School.
They took Syllabus 4048 Paper 1 instead of Syllabus 4016 Paper 1.
Syllabus 4048 is the revised version of Syllabus 4016.
Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board said both schools had register the wrong syllabus code during the registration early this year.
SEAB said: “We are working with the schools and the University of Cambridge International Examinations to ensure that these candidates will be fairly assessed in the GCE O-Level Mathematics Paper 1 examination,”
“We will take into consideration the circumstances of the incident, the candidates’ performance in the school preliminary examination, their performance in the other Mathematics paper and the cohort’s performance in providing a fair assessment to the candidates for the Mathematics subject.”
The students are not required to retake their mathematics paper 1.
