The police were alerted to the incident at around 10:30 am on April 8, following a call regarding a suspected drowning case at 25 Tampines Lane. Upon arrival, the police found the man unconscious and immediately rushed him to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The onsen spa pool, which is typically filled with warm or hot water to replicate the conditions of a Japanese hot spring, was 0.9 meters deep and had been drained and closed following the incident. According to messages circulating on Telegram groups, police cars and at least one ambulance were spotted at the clubhouse.

Preliminary investigations by the police have ruled out foul play, and a spokesperson for the Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed that the man was taken to Changi General Hospital.

Completed in 2023, Treasure at Tampines is a condominium complex that has been making headlines for its luxurious amenities and facilities. The tragic incident has come as a shock to residents and the wider community, and investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the man’s death.
