74 Y.O MAN FELL INTO SEA WHILE THROWING FLOWERS INTO SEA FOR LATE WIFE, RESCUED BY COUPLE

25-year-old Filipino Queen Lexinda Royupa, who is working as a customer service officer in Singapore, shared a TikTok video on 13 September about a touching encounter she and her husband had with an elderly man at Changi Beach.

She was with her husband at the beach at about 9.50am, when they noticed the elderly man walking along the beachfront, where the rocks were slippery.

The elderly man then suddenly fell down into the water and hit his head, and the couple then rushed over to the stricken old man to help him.

They wiped the bruises on the elderly man’s head and arms and tried to calm him down.

Wanted to give flowers to late wife who died 10 years ago

They then asked him what he was doing, and the elderly man then told them that he wanted to give flowers to his late wife, who passed away 10 years ago.

Royupa then started crying upon hearing this, as the elderly man then asked the couple to help him throw the flowers into the sea for his late wife, and they gladly did so.

The couple then stayed behind to converse with the elderly man until he felt much better, keeping him company, as the man thanked them for their help.

He told the couple: “thank you to both of you, I might have drowned if you were not here. You’re good people.”

They offered to take the uncle to a hospital for his wounds, which the old man then declined.

Royupa said that she was on leave from work that day, and that perhaps God had a reason for her to be there at the time, to be an “instrument to save someone’s life”.

She also said that the fateful encounter with the old man made her realise that true love exists, as she ended the video with a message from the old man to his late wife: “he loves you so dearly.”
