8 MEN CAUGHT ILLEGALLY ENTERING SG BY SWIMMING TOWARDS TUAS

Eight men were suspected of jumping off a boat in Tuas waters and swimming toward the coast of Singapore, but they were spotted by the surveillance of the police coast guard and were arrested on charges of illegal entry.

The Police said that the Police Coast Guard discovered that eight people had jumped into the water from an unnumbered FRP boat near the pier in Tuas at about 2:30 this morning(Aug 27) and swim to our coastline.

Jurong Police Station, the Gurkha Contingent and the Special Operations Command, the Police Coast Guard arrested eight men aged between 21 and 55 and seized a boat.

The 8 men will be charged today (Aug 28) for illegal entry, If convicted, they can be sentenced to up to six months in prison and at least three lashes.
