According to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA), 8 travellers were found making a false declaration to avoid serving Stay Home Notice (SHN) at designated facilities.
It was reported that the 8 individuals have opted in to serve their SNH at their home as they claimed that they are either stay alone or staying with a household member with the same travel history.
However, they were found staying with household members who are not serving the SHN during spot checks conducted by the authorities. The 8 individuals were later taken to the designated SNH facilities.
Investigations against the 8 individuals are ongoing.
The authorities warn the members of the public to take all health, travel and SHN related declaration seriously. The authorities will not hesitate to take action against those who are found making false declarations.
Anyone who is found making false declarations could be fine or jailed or both.
