8 YOUNGSTERS ARRESTED FOR SEX SCAMS

According to the Singapore Police Force, 8 youngsters between the age of 16 to 21 were arrested for their suspected involvement in sex scams.

The police were alerted between 21 Jan – 04 Apr 2020. The victims were tricked into making money transfers after seeing online advisement promoting sexual services.

After an investigation by the Woodlands Police Division, the police had successfully identified the 8 people involved. It is believed that the 8 suspects were involved in 5 sex scams involving a total of $700.

Investigation is ongoing.

According to the law, anyone who is convicted of cheating will face a jail term up to 10 years and fine.
