882 NEW CASES REPORTED WITH 797 OMICRON CASES & 1 DEATH

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has reported a total of 882 new cases on 12 January 2022 with one fatality.

Case details

Of the 882 new cases, 486 are local with MOH not reporting the number of cases in the foreign worker dormitories.

The remaining 396 are imported cases.

797 cases are reported to be Omicron cases, with 284 being imported and 513 being local.

Weekly infection growth rate

The weekly infection growth rate is now at 1.60, 0.11 less than what was reported on Tuesday when it was at 1.71.

This rate refers to the ratio of community cases of the past week as compared to the week before.

A rate above 1 indicates that weekly cases are on the rise.

Total toll

The one fatality reported today brings the death toll in Singapore at 839 and the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic is now at 288,125.
