956 NEW CASES ON 15 JAN 2022, 692 OMICRON, THREE DEATHS

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has reported a total of 956 new cases on 15 January 2022 with three fatalities.

Case details

Of the 956 new cases, 552 are local with MOH not reporting the number of cases in the foreign worker dormitories.

The remaining 404 are imported cases.

692 cases are reported to be Omicron cases, with 151 being imported and 541 being local.

Weekly infection growth rate

The weekly infection growth rate is now at 1.47, 0.09 more than what was reported on Friday when it was at 1.38.

This rate refers to the ratio of community cases of the past week as compared to the week before.

A rate above 1 indicates that weekly cases are on the rise.

Total toll

The three fatalities reported today brings the death toll in Singapore at 843 and the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic is now at 290,986.
