The dad had been isolated for almost 200 over hours in his room.
Wanting to bring some joy to his mood, she tied a red ribbon outside his door, passed him a pair of scissors and asked him to cut it.
‘Cutting the red ribbon’ is commonly seen in Chinese culture and is usually used to celebrate grand openings or new beginnings.
