A video has been uploaded recently onto social media showing cam car footage of an incident that happened during a normal routine lane change at Woodlands Avenue 1 on 17 November 2021 at 1026am.
The driver is driving a Toyota Prius bearing the vehicle number plate of SKG8526K, and there is a Lalamove sticker on the car indicating that the driver might also possibly be doing deliveries on the Lalamove platform.
While most drivers do the usual, flickering the signal light to indicate the direction of change and then slowly taking their chances to filter to their intended lanes, this driver decided to boost his lane filtering chances by a 100 times.
While the driver in question had used his signal light to indicate his intention of changing to the right lane, he switched lanes almost immediately and abruptly.
He then decided that that was not enough to get the cam car’s attention, so he swung open his door aggressively as well and showed his middle finger to the cam car driver before slamming the door shut.
Penalties
While there is no specific laws in relation to road rage in Singapore, there are laws in place that focus on the confrontational actions of parties following an act of ‘rage’.
Even though road rage itself is not a criminal offence, it is possible for individuals in a road rage case to be charged with other criminal offences.
