All of the 10 cases are fully vaccinated and have had mild to no symptoms, and MOH added that they are ringfencing the cases via contact tracing.

The primary case of the cluster is a traveler from the US who arrived here on 14 December via the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL).

He tested negative for his on-arrival test but subsequently tested positive on 18 December.

He met a colleague (who is now case 281,477) on 15 December and that colleague visited The Vinyl Bar on 17 December.

According to MOH’s epidemiological investigations, the colleague had likely passed the virus to a staff at the bar, as well as to three other patrons of the bar that evening.

One of the infected patrons, case 282,091, then infected four of his household members.

Quarantine

Workers and patrons of The Vinyl Bar who are identified to the close contacts of the infected cases will be quarantined and other visitors who have been there at the same time on 17 December will be given a targeted PCR test by MOH.

MOH asked all who visited The Vinyl Bar to monitor their health and minimise social interactions for 14 days and see a doctor should they feel unwell.

At the time of writing, there are 448 confirmed Omicron cases, with 369 being imported and 79 being local.
