The Singapore Police’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the Secret Societies Branch (SSB), and seven other police land divisions conducted joint operations alongside safe distancing enforcement officers from Enterprise Singapore, from 17 December to 27 December.
The operations targeted public entertainment and nightlife establishments, F&B outlets, and shopping malls.
A total of 177 people and 56 outlets were checked during the operations and a 30-year-old man was arrested for his alleged involvement in secret society activities.
Three F&B outlets at Golden Mile Complex were found to have allegedly contravened Covid-19 (temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020:
- Angel Bar Beer
- CY Bistro
- Thong Lor
The police reiterated that they will continue to carry out enforcement operations at various public entertainment and nightlife establishments and popular congregation hot spots and will not hesitate to take stern actions against people who associate with gangs and disregard the law.
