S’PORE’S TRAVEL ADVISORY ALERT RECLASSIFIED TO “UNKNOWN” BY USA

The US Centers for Disease Control and Protection (CDC) reclassified its travel alert for Singapore from “very high” to “unknown” on 4 January.

They also suggested their people avoid travelling to Singapore.

The same classification was also accorded to North Korea, Yemen, Syria and Afghanistan, and the CDC’s advisory stated:

“Because the current situation in Singapore is unknown, even fully vaccinated travellers may be at risk for getting and spreading COVID-19 variants.”

They also added that travellers from the US should enter Singapore only if they have been fully vaccinated.

Singapore was previously categorised as “Very High” by the CDC on 18 October 2021 and before that, we were raised from “Moderate” to “High” on 27 September 2021.
