His body was found 2 days after he was reported missing by his family, and just 1.3km away from his home.
His family lost contact with him at about 6.30 pm on New Year and reported him missing to the police, who then released a missing persons appeal on 2 January.
Suffered from dementia
His granddaughter said that Leck was a dementia patient and had a caretaker taking care of him at home and that he was also sent to a care centre during the day.
The caretaker was the one who informed the family that Leck was missing, and the family then went out to search for him before the police report was made.
Police called to inform family of body
The family then received a call from the police that his body was found in a drain at a heavy vehicle carpark and they were shocked, sad, and confused as to how he ended up there.
The police confirmed that they were alerted to a case of unnatural death at 42 Defu Lane 7, on 3 January at 7.08 pm.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, and preliminary investigations rule out foul play.
At the time of writing, police investigations are still underway.
