PRI 1 BOY SMELLS SOMETHING BURNING, TELLS MUM TO GET OUT BEFORE IT CAUGHT FIRE

A Mercedes caught fire near Maris Stella High School on 13 January at about 7.30am, with a mother and son inside the car.

According to The Straits Times, the woman was sending her son in Primary 1 to school when the fire broke out, they managed to get out of the car before it caught fire.

THe woman said that her told smelled something burning and hurried told her to get out of the vehicle quickly.

Explosions were then heard from the vehicle which was on fire and thick smoke was seen rising from the inferno.

A security guard from the school used a fire extinguisher to try to put out the fire but to no avail.

The SCDF later arrived at the scene to control the situation and put out the fire, and they said that they were alerted to a fire along Bartley Road involving a car on 13 January at about 7.30am.

The fire was put out using 2 compressed air foam backpacks and a hose reel, and there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation at the time of writing.
