56 F&B CAUGHT FLOUTING COVID RULES, 360 PEOPLE CAUGHT

According to the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, 56 businesses has been ordered to shut down and/or fined after they were caught flouting COVID-19 rules.

One of the outlets even allowed their customers to sing Karaoke, the customer was later tested positive for COVID-19.

Various rules were broken including “interactions” between staff and customers, while some exceeded the maximum number of pax per group, serving alcohol after 10.30 PM, allowing customers to sing song and play darts.

Candy K-Bar (111 Somerset Road, #02-07/08/09) accepted a dining group above the permitted group size, and continued to serve, sell and allow consumption of alcohol within its premises after 10.30 pm. The establishment also allowed customers to use a KTV system for singing, screened videos on the KTV system, and allowed customers to play darts on a dart machine.

The Eastern (497 Geylang Road), a nightlife establishment that pivoted to F&B, allowed intermingling between patrons, failed to maintain a safe distance of at least 1 metre between tables and groups, and failed to keep each recording made using the electronic video surveillance system for a period of not less than 28 days after the date the recording was made. The operator has been issued an order to close for 10 days from 12 to 21 January 2022.
