A video emerged online showing a Mazda 3 beating a red light during a traffic stop.
The incident happened on 1 February at about 11.44pm, along Boon Lay Way, and the driver of the Mazda 3 was seen beating the red light (a red arrow traffic light) while at a traffic stop.
The red arrow was seen to have been red for a while and the driver appeared to have had enough of waiting and decided to take the law into his/her own hands.
Potential penalties
It is an offence to beat a red light in Singapore.
Drivers found guilty of failing to conform to traffic light signals face a composition fine of $400 for light vehicles and $500 for heavy vehicles.
They also face 12 demerit points and if a driver accumulates 24 or more demerit points within 24 months, their license will be suspended.
