The Minister of State for Home Affairs and Pasir Ris – Punggol GRC MP Desmond Tan, shared a post on Facebook about his visitation to the Tuas Fire Station on the first day of Chinese New Year.
He had visited the officers on duty there to thank them for their hard work during the festive period, and commended them for their efforts in responding to some notable fire incidents.

Visited Tuas Fire Station on the first day of Chinese New Year to thank our officers from the @SingaporeCivilDefenceForce for their hard work.
Tuas Fire Station has responded to some notable fire incidents, including an industrial fire which involved two warehouses at 7 Tuas Ave 18 (17 Mar 2020), a dust explosion at 32E Tuas Ave 11 (24 Feb 2021) and an electrical explosion at Tuas Incineration Plant (23 Sep 2021).
Glad to know that the officers are in high spirits.
They have remained vigilant throughout the pandemic and leveraged technology to adapt to the new normal. They used teleconferencing platforms to conduct High Risk Installation Tabletop Exercises with stakeholders and share knowledge with other fire stations through night lectures.
