A 64-year-old Singaporean woman was previously reported as missing on 31 January in Permas Jaya, Johor Bahru, by her family.
Her body was found yesterday morning (2 February) floating on the bank of the Pelentong River a at about 10.45am.
Left home without personal belongings
According to China Press, the woman was married to a Malaysian and went to live in Permas Jaya, and she was believed to have left her home on 31 January – she never returned home.
Her family said that she was last seen leaving the home in the morning without her mobile phone, wallet, passport or NRIC (Singapore), and they appealed for help on social media.
Body found in river
The finally received news from the Johor police who found her body floating on the river bank, and they have preliminarily ruled out foul play as there were no signs of injuries – her body will be sent for an autopsy.
The deceased’s family identified her by the clothes worn on the retrieved body.
Investigations are ongoing.
