FAKE SINGPOST SMS ALERT, PHISHING LINK TO CHEAT BANK DETAILS

A man received an SMS from some number by the name of ‘Appointment’ informing him that there has been an error with a delivery prompting the man to click on a web link.

The link leads to a phishing site that tries to get banks details of victims such as IBanking login information and/or credit card information.

Members of the public are advised to ignore this kind of SMS and block them if possible.

Mass send SMS

The scammers have a database of numbers that were collected illegally and sometimes the victims might happen to have a pending delivery from their online purchase.

When this kind of SMS are sent out, they are bound to hit a few people who legitimately has pending deliveries and fall victim to these phishing links

  1. Received SMS from AUTHMSG (Number not displayed) on 5May2020 at 05:32PM Which said “your delivery has been stopped at our Depot. Trk#: r690381803147. Please resolve the issue here: ***** (Phishing link)
  1. ad said just pay the delivery fee $ 4.95 but when i got the credit card invoikce it was $97.83 i calldem up why they said read the notice but i dont read anything about that i think i was scamed it just happen last month so dont buy nothing from this so called pay delivery fees only.
