Cyclists in Singapore will be required to follow new restrictions enforced by the Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA) beginning in January 2022.
The rules will apply not just to bikers, but also to users of unpowered personal mobility devices (PMD) like kick scooters and skateboards, powered PMD like electric scooters, unicycles, skateboards, and hoverboards, and personal mobility aids like motorized wheelchairs.
Sometimes on the road, we are often annoyed by a number of vehicles, especially E-scooters or bicycles. A cyclist was seen hogging the lane without keeping the lane and even challenging the driver to a fight.
Fines for errant cyclist is SGD $150.
Here is what the netizen said:
At around 1:50pm today at Yishun, a foodpanda rider was hogging the left side of the road(the only lane that can make a left turn) for a long time.
Despite the other lanes being completely empty. There were other cars behind wanting to make the left turn too. After my vehicle was stationary, he pointed his middle finger and started to come towards us. Upon seeing that he wanted a confrontation, I winded down the window and the first two thing he said was ‘chao jibai Lai ah and that’s the road so what?’
