With health workers risking their lives and doing overtime just to help patients, the public needs to be understanding.
Recently, there was news about a couple who harass their neighbour just because they work in the health care sector.
However, it’s great to see that there are still good people around. A taxi driver pastes a piece of notice at the back of the passenger seat stating:
“To show appreciation to those that work in the Hospital and Nursing Homes, I would like to offer a $4 discount for your ride. If you are not in your uniform, please show your work pass for verification in order to get the discount. I appreciate your hard work and contribution to our country!
#SGUnited, Together We Can Overcome!
Feel free to use hand sanitiser located at the side door“

Here are what netizens said:
- I sat in a taxi last yr aft a cruise during chinese new yr and the taxi uncle had 2 rows of free snacks on the back of the seats, anime figures, a ton of warm fairy lights and he gave 2 dollar angbao. Obvs i gave extra like 5 dollar tips cuz he give me and my sister 4 dollars and he was so kind! Best taxi experience ever.
- This is a very nice gesture but what I think what the health care workers really need is a better working environment and pay. Unfortunately the people in charge can only offer to clap for them.
- He is not capable of changing their workplace, so he’s doing what he can instead of complaining about it online.
- I’ve in this taxi once on the way to work. Thought it was something grab was offering
- Seems like just last year drivers were refusing to pick up TTSH staff and landlords evicting nurses. Nice to see people caring.
