NYE GATHERING @ CLARKE QUAY, 3 TO PLEAD GUILTY, WITH 2 FACING EXTRA CHARGE

Verma Pulkit and Harjaz Singh are being accused of breaching Covid-19 rules by attending a New Year’s gathering at Clarke Quay and they were both handed an additional charge each in court on 8 February.

The two men are being accused of joining a gathering near Read Bridge, outside Riverside Point in Clarke Quay for a common purpose without a reasonable excuse.

Videos of the gathering went viral on social media.

Verma is being accused of attending a gathering which included 8 other people to celebrate the New Year.

Singh is also being accused of joining a gathering that included 6 other people with the same intention.

Another man, Kotra Venkata Sai Ronhankrishna, who is also linked to the incident, is intending to plead guilty along with the aforementioned duo.

He is also being accused of wearing a Spider-Man costume and joining a gathering with three other people and interacting with about 20 people.

Singh, Verma, Kotra and a certain William Alexander Brooks-Potts were charged in court last month for failing to keep a 1m distancing at Clark Quay, near Read Bridge at midnight on 1 January, as well as not wearing a mask.

They will be back in court on 8 March.
