A netizen shared a video of a couple of girls seen without their masks and drinking inside the MRT, they were also seen in the video talking loudly to each other.
Here is what the netizen said:
“Two girls drinking alcohol (not sure ) in train.
They were drinking in the train with masks off talking loudly, they might be sober and even tho people were looking at them, they didn’t bother about the rest of the people on the train.
Not very sure abt alcohol but they seem a bit sober cause they were talking quite loud like no body ard them last Wednesday.”
Potential penalties
For drinking inside an MRT, he is liable for a fine of up to $500 under the Rapid Transit Systems (RTS) Act.
Persons caught by the Police for not wearing a mask or not wearing a mask properly they can be charged under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020.
Penalties include a fine of up to SGD$10,000 and jail for up to six months.
