Large parts of Singapore experienced heavy rain yesterday (20 February) afternoon, with the thunderstorm causing a tree to fall onto a car.
The incident happened at the driveway of a carpark at Block 289C Punggol Place, with the tree falling onto a car and trapping the driver inside.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was seen at the scene trying to free the trapped driver from the car by using equipment to cut through the tree.
A large tree branch was also seen puncturing through the windshield of the car, but thankfully it missed the driver.
The SCDF said that they received a call for help at the abovementioned location at around 3.15pm and when they arrived, they found someone trapped inside the driver’s seat of the vehicle.
The driver was eventually rescued by SCDF personnel and there were no injuries sustained.
