No independent polls have been conducted in Russia on her netizens sentiments about the war with Ukraine.

Did not say how long it will last

The spokesperson also did not say how long the operation will last, citing that it will all depend on how long Russian President, Vladimir Putin, wants it to be and also the ‘results’ of it.

He also said that there are goals that the operation needs to achieve and said that Ukraine needs to be cleared of all Nazis.

Operation defied calls from Western leaders

In deciding to go ahead with the operations, Russia has defied repeated calls from Western leaders, who had also threatened the country with sanctions, not to make advancements into Ukraine.

The spokesperson also said that it is impossible for the Western countries to fully isolate Russia and that relations between Russia and some of the countries are already not on good terms.

He added that Russia cannot hide behind ‘iron curtains’.

He ended by saying that with the invasion, Russia will certainly strain relations with some of these countries but even so, relations between Russia and these countries have already been strained long ago.
