24,080 NEW CASES REPORTED IN SPORE, 11 DEATHS


The Ministry of Health (MOH) has reported a total of 24,080 new cases on 1 March 2022 with 11 fatalities.

Case details

Of the 24,080 new cases, 23,891 are local.

The remaining 189 are imported cases.

Of the cases today, 21,130 cases are low risk and detected via ART test while 2,950 cases are detected via PCR.

The 21,130 ART positive cases consist of 21,025 local cases and 105 imported cases, while the 2,950 PCR positive cases consist of 2,866 local cases and 84 imported cases.

The bulk majority of Singapore’s cases today are under the Protocol 2 status, which represents that they are well or assessed with mild conditions.

Patients in Hospitals

1,726 patients are currently in hospitals according to MOH’s latest infection statistics.

Out of those currently in hospitals, 242 patients require supplementary oxygen and 53 patients are in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Weekly infection growth rate

The weekly infection growth rate is now at 1.02, 0.07 lesser than what was reported on Monday when it was at 1.09.

This rate refers to the ratio of community cases of the past week as compared to the week before.

A rate above 1 indicates that weekly cases are on the rise.

Vaccination status

As of 1 March 2022, 95 percent of the population in Singapore eligible for vaccination have completed the full vaccination regime under the National Vaccination Programme.

68 percent of those who are eligible for vaccination have also received their booster jabs.

Total toll

11 fatalities reported today brings the death toll in Singapore to 1,030 and the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic is now at 748,504.
